The La Grange Railroad Museum, housed in a historic 1914 L&N train depot, was formed by the Ohio Valley Railroad Historical Foundation, a 501 (c) (3). This started as a vision of Robert (Bob) C. Widman, Sr. (and 4 others) as early as the mid to late 1990s.
This new vision for museum took many hours of research, contemplation, and contacts throughout the community. IT was imperative that this repurposed space share the story of La Grange, famous for trains running through Main Street. With the passion of the community, the museum acquired unique outside railcars, such as a Steam Engine, 1929 Dining Car, L & N Caboose, and a train-yard jitney and flatbed.
The inside of the museum possesses artifacts and displays, in addition to an extensive HO-scale model layout with over 800 feet of track.
